REVIEW: DWCU GRADUATION EXERCISES 2010

BISHOPS AS CELEBRANTS OF

BACCALAUREATE MASSES 2010

Most Rev. Jacinto A. Jose, DD

Urdaneta City. The Divine Word College of Urdaneta is blessed with bishops as the main celebrants and homilists on this school year’s commencement exercises. Last March 26, the Pre-School and Elementary Departments were blessed with the presence of the Most Rev. Jacinto “Jack” A. Jose, DD – the bishop of the Diocese of Urdaneta as the main celebrant and homilist. During the celebration the good bishop proudly shared to the parents and the whole congregation his Divinian formation when he was still a student of the Divine Word College of Laoag years back. The DWCU as an institution and a community occupies a special place in the heart of the bishop. The whole academic community of the DWCU is grateful to the Bishop for his inspiration and full support to the vision-mission-goal of this noble institution. Thank you very much dear Bishop Jack for journeying with us in our life and mission as Divinians and as Witness to the Word. The DWCU is committed to her mission to support the local church as a Catholic College. We assure you of our full support to the implementation of the revised Diocesan Integrated Pastoral Plan (DIPP) as we celebrate with you the Silver Jubilee of the Diocese of Urdaneta.

Bishop Pol Jaucian, DD

On the other hand, the High School Department share the same intensity of blessings with Most Rev. Leopoldo C. Jaucian, SVD, DD as their main celebrant and homilist during their Thanksgiving Mass and Guest Speaker as well during the Graduation Rites. Bishop Jaucian is the first outstanding student ever produced by the DWCU who rose to the ranks of the Hierarchy of the Catholic Church. His Excellency is the first Divinian ever to become a bishop. The DWCU produced already a number of priests and brothers through the years as this institution was primarily established for the formation of future SVD Missionaries.

Bishop Jaucian as an alumnus inspired parents and students during his Key Note Address when he recounted his challenging experiences within the confines of the Campus of the DWCU  as a student and his continuous struggle to advance his studies as a working student at Christ the King Seminary in Quezon City until he decided to enter the formation towards priesthood. Indeed, to be financially challenged is not a hindrance for success as evidenced by his Excellency Pol Jaucian.  He is now the Bishop of the Diocese of Bangued, the whole province of Abra in the Cordilleras.

James Patrick S. Pico

Augmenting the inspiring message of our guest speaker was the valedictory address of James Patrick S. Pico. Avowed as valedictorian of the High School Department for this school year 2009-2010, James Patrick delivered his speech in flawless fashion challenging and inspiring all his listeners to value education above all and to enthrone the quest for wisdom with the highest priority. The board of trustees then with the Administrators, Faculty, non-Academic personnel, students and parents of the Divine Word College of Urdaneta congratulate all our graduates specially to our honor students for this school year. We salute you!

Congratulations to all

our Divinian Graduates…..

CONGRATULATIONS....

Alleluia! Happy Easter to One and All

Easter Myspace Comments

Easter is the day when we celebrate Jesus Christ rising from the dead. Jesus is the Son of God and gave His life to die for our sins. On the third day after He died — the day we now celebrate as Easter Sunday — His friends went to His grave, and found that He had risen from the dead. They saw an angel who told them, “Don’t be afraid! I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He has been raised from the dead, just as He said it would happen.”

Jesus rose from the dead on Easter Sunday; now He offers to you the gift of eternal life and forgiveness of sins. This is the true story of Easter, and how it can change your life.

Happy Easter to one and all….
