ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
This month of February’s jubilations were further highlighted by the joyful celebration of DWCU’s 50th Foundation Day, which was started by the sacrifice of the Holy Eucharist with the Theme: DWCU @50 Empowered by Word of Truth, Proclaiming the Word of Life and Alive in Mission. Each day is highlighted by a celebration of the Holy Eucharist. The first day is a tribute to the SVD who owns and manage the School, in whose missionary spirit draws the life of the school. SVD Religious Brothers The second day was a tribute to the Local Diocese of Urdaneta, who is a strong partner in Evangelization and where the school was planted. The Holy Mass was presided by His Excellency Bishop Jacinto Jose, DD. Bishop of Urdaneta and attended by more than 30 priest of the local Diocese and SVD concelebrating priests. The third day is a celebration of the Holy Eucharist, a tribute for the successful alumni of the school. It was presided by His Excellency Bishop Leopoldo Jaucian, DD. An alumni of the school. There are more than fifteen priest, graduates of DWCU and former administrators of DWCU concelebrating the Mass. Two Masses were held in that day.
The Foundation Day’s programs include among others, the Medical Mission as well as legal assistance were conducted for the residents of Brgy. Bayaoas. A good number of medical and dental volunteers as well as lawyers took part in this endeavor as a result of the active and tireless efforts of the School Administration’s teaching and non-teaching personnel in the solicitation of medicines as well as cash donations for this purpose. It is good to note that the donors and volunteers are alumni and alumnae of Divine Word College of Urdaneta.
To further add flame to the jubilation of the DWCU Students, teaching and non-teaching staff as well as the PTA and Alumni associations, a fun-run was conducted which as well participated by all concerned. It was a very successful activity that must have left an indelible mark in the hearts of the Divinians.
