GOD SPEAKS TO ALL DIVINIANS . . . TODAY!

i-Proclaim DWCU Edition

DWCU CAMPUS, Urdaneta City. The whole academic community of the Divine Word College of Urdaneta together with some of the parents of our students and guests experienced for the first time reading the whole bible from Genesis to Revelation together in one hour. That was the most silent, solemn and blessed hour that each one ever experienced in the campus when God speaks to all the Divinians and our friends who were with us reading the Sacred Scriptures touched by every Word of God. Indeed, we truly experienced the power of the Word of God. “For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” (Heb. 4:12)

The “record breaker” Bible activity done by the whole DWCU is in consonance and in line with the celebration of the National Bible Week  2010 that started last Monday until this coming Sunday – the National Bible Sunday (January 25-31). The Episcopal Commission for the Biblical Apostolate of the CBCP highlights this National Bible Week with the i-Proclaim program. The non-stop reading of the Sacred Scripture throughout the whole nation. The DWCU modified the program since they cannot be with in the campus for 24 hours and do the non-stop reading. Instead, they decided to come together, divided the whole bible into parts in such a way that the whole bible will be covered in one setting. If there were 964 students, faculty members and non-academic personnel reading the bible in one hour that means 964 hours spent together in reading the Word of God. With 964, convert it into days, that means 40.1 days of reading the bible.  So, the DWCU community possibly read the whole bible from cover to cover.

The said activity was covered by the nation’s leading TV Channels: the ABS-CBN and GMA7 aired at 5:00 o’clock news for Northern and Central Luzon.

Inspired by the DWCU Bible Reading activity the anchorman of the GMA7 Jeorge Guerrero arranged for a live interview with the president and footage of the Divine Word College of Urdaneta with some faculty, non-academic personnel and students during the 5:00 pm. newscast Balitang Amianan.
