dThe Pre-School Department of DWCU celebrated the Bible Week on January 27, 2017, with the theme, “The Bible: The Hope for the Community’s Progress”. The program started with an opening prayer by Monique Lizardo, a pupil from Kinder 2. Followed by the picture taking of each class with the very proud parents. The charming pupils from Nursery, Kinder 1 and Kinder 2 with Br. Emmanuel L. Ines, SVD, displayed their beautiful costumes as they roam around the campus. The students from the Elementary, High School and College Departments, as the audience, were indeed star-strucked by the little disciples of Jesus. The kids sang a bible jingle with their little baskets. They were given treats by the faculty and other staffs with Fr. Gil T. Manalo, SVD.

After the parade, the pupils had a short film viewing and other activities like singing and dancing. The pupils also had some parlor games like basag palayok (hit the earthen pot) and jump and grab the candies. A potluck party was done after.

The celebration certainly went very successful. The kids got tired but were very happy that you could see them smile from ear to ear. They learned many things like having self-confidence, how to socialize, and share. And most of all, they learned about the importance of the Bible and how it’ll give hope for the community’s progress.
