DIVINIANS CELEBRATE FIRST FRIDAY MASS
OF AUGUST ALONG WITH THE
INDUCTION OF OFFICERS
The Divine Word College of Urdaneta religiously celebrates First Friday Mass as part of monthly activities of a school year. This month of August, along with the First Friday Mass is the induction of officers in the College Student Council, Supreme Student Government, and Supreme Pupil Government last August 5. The club officers and homeroom officers were also part of the induction ceremonies. As elected officers of the student body, the ceremony served as an official declaration of those elected as bona fide officials in their respective councils, clubs, and classrooms.
The month of August also served as the month to celebrate Buwan ng Wika. This celebration emphasizes the importance of the national language to our nation. This year’s theme, “Ang Filipino ay Wikang Panlahat Ilaw at Lakas sa Tuwid na Landas”, focuses on different activities being instigated by DepEd and the Komisyon ng Wikang Filipino (KWF). In each week of the month, different topics are to be observed by the schools from both public and private schools. The kick-off for the celebration of Buwan ng Wika was also observed by the Divinians on that same day.
