“GOD’S WORD IS THE LIFE
AND MISSION OF THE DWCU”
Urdaneta City. The SVD community, the seminarians of the Divine Word Formation Center, the whole academic community of the Divine Word College of Urdaneta gathered together this morning in the celebration of the Word and the breaking of the Bread thanking the Lord for the 43 years of blissful existence of the DWCU. Fr. Bernard Teneza, SVD was the main celebrant with Fr. Dominador O. Ramos, SVD as the homilist. Rejoicing with gratitude in the hearts of all Divinians the Eucharist indeed was a real “communio” when Fr. Doms challenged everyone to renew our commitment with the Word as the Life and Mission of every Divinian, that we treat each other with RESPECT, UNDERSTANDING, COMPASSION and LOVE.
Teachers’ Day. In a 3-day celebration of the 43rd Foundation Anniversary of the DWCU, this first day is devoted to all the Teachers, Faculty Members, Administrators and Non-academic employees. The students in Pre-Elementary, Elementary, Secondary and Tertiary levels prepared a very entertaining and educational program honoring the teachers and all our employees in gratitude to their love and devotion in teaching, molding and serving each student in the campus through the years. One of those heartwarming part was the giving of symbolic gifts by the students to their teachers after rendering meaningful presentations of songs and dances.
Fr. President in a short message told a story about professionals who made mistakes in their profession. A lawyer who makes mistake will send his client to jail, a doctor who makes mistake with his patient will send one to the morgue or the cemetery but when a teacher commits mistake sends one to hell. Today, we thank the teachers of the DWCU who bring heaven to our classrooms and to our campus, through their guidance and teachings the assurance of heaven on earth and the life after is at hand. Thank you very much dear teachers. “We love you all…” as Fr. Noel closed the program with this message of love… to continue to live and share as Divinians with RESPECT, UNDERSTANDING, COMPASSION and LOVE. Happy Teachers’ Day!
