ASIAN YOUTH DAY

The Youth Ministry of the Divine Word College of Urdaneta headed by our Campus Minister Fr. Servas W. Tethun, SVD  joined the Yasia Fiesta hosted by the Diocese of Urdaneta held last September 16-17, 2009 at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral grounds of Urdaneta City. The youth festival was organized welcoming the pilgrim Asian Youth Cross in preparation for the 5TH Asian Youth Day which will be held in the Philippines this time on November 20-27at the Diocese of Imus, Cavite.  The festival bears the theme: “Young Asians: Come together, share the Word, live the Eucharist.” This festive gathering of the youth was crafted with the following objectives:

1. Renew one’s faith in and love for the Word of God and the Eucharist

2. Celebrate youthfully the Word and the Eucharist in our contexts, cultures, and communities

3. Become agents of transformation by living out the Word and the Eucharist in out realities in Asia.


PROGRAM OF ACTIVITIES:

PART I: September 16 (Wednesday)

12:00 Welcome of the AYD Cross – transfer of the cross from Our Lady of Peace College Seminary, San Isidro, Tarlac CityIMG_0475

1:00 pm Youth Assembly at the Urdaneta Cathedral Gym

  • the AYD Cross to be unveiled in Villasis Church with the Villasis Youth & St. Anthony Abbot Students led by the Parish Priest and the Parochial Vicar
  • Motorcade going to Urdaneta – street welcoming of the AYD Cross
  • AGL Heights “Salubong” of the unveiled cross by the DUIYM

5:00 pm

  • Rite of Welcome at the Urdaneta Cathedral as Fr. Drexel turns over the
